To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Eugen Feist, a citizen of Germany, residing at Solingen, Germany, have invented new and useful Improvements in Safety-Razors, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a safety razor provided with a pair of cutting blades, and more particularly to improved means for securing said blades to the razor head.

In the accompanying drawings Figure 1 is a side view of a safety razor constructed according to this invention showing the handle partly in section, Fig. 2 is a sectional plan, Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing the guard detached and Fig. 4 is a similar view to Fig. 1 showing a slightly modified form of construction.

As shown in the accompanying drawing, the blades m may lie in the same plane, Figs. 1 to 3 or they may be arranged obliquely, Fig. 4. Both blades can be fixed to the guard k. In the form of the invention illustrated both blades are clamped between the guard and a single backing or clamp plate p by a single screw f. The screw f is formed on an extension a of the handle n and is screwed into a screw threaded opening in the plate p. In order that the blades may receive and retain the right position, pins r are suitably arranged on the backing plate or on the guard plate and engage in holes or slots in the blades and in the guard or backing plate. The slots s in the blades extend at right angles to the cutting edges thereof and are of such a length that the different blades can be adjusted outwards or inwards. If the blades lie obliquely in relation to one another and inclined to the handle, the guard and the backing plate must have a suitable angular form. Two separate narrow even backing plates may however be employed.

What he claims and desires to secure by Letters Patent is:—

1. A safety razor provided with a guard plate, a pair of cutting blades having slots extending at right angles to the cutting edges thereof, a clamp plate having pins that pass through the blade-slots, and means for securing the clamp plate to the guard plate, substantially as specified.

2. A safety razor provided with a perforated guard plate, a pair of cutting blades having slots extending at right angles to the cutting edges thereof, a clamp plate having pins that pass through the blade-slots and engage the guard-perforations, and means for securing the clamp plate to the guard plate, substantially as specified.
